Adult Ministries

Sunday

                Seven Sunday School Classes at 9:50 a.m. 

       You choose the group that best fits your needs for Bible Study and building relationships.
       Sunday School groups are formed by interest, not only age and/or gender.

Adult Sunday School Classes:
Agape: Class for 60-70 year-olds, both men and women.  A discussion-driven class, exploring theological concepts from a moderate Baptist perspective.
Disciples: Middle-aged adults, both men and women.  A fellowship and mission-minded class.
Oddyssey: "Younger" adult class, both men and women, including college students, 20 & 30-Somethings.
Samaritans: Made up of men and women, mostly of youth and college student parents. 
Friendship: Both men and women of varied ages, mostly 50-65 years range.  A Biblical discussion class.
Men's Class:  Senior men's class
Golden Circle: Senior women's class

Wednesday

                Ladies Bible Study at 10:30 a.m.

                        In the Education Wing

    Prayer and Mission time at 6:15 p.m.

                        Wednesday nights in the Fellowship Hall following dinner.

                Adult Bible Study at 7:00 p.m.

                Choirs

                         Handbell Choir rehearsal at 7:00 p.m. in the music room

                         Sanctuary Choir rehearsal at 8:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary

Discipleship Training

            Training events and growth groups meet at various times throughout the year.

Winter Bible Study:  Each winter we have a 3-4 week study of one book of the Bible for all adults during the months of January and February.  This study is held in the church Fellowship Hall and is led by the pastors.  A snack supper and child care are provided.  The study book for 2009 is Acts.

Baptist Vision Month:  The month of February is Baptist Vision Month at Tomahawk.  During this time we focus on what it means to be Baptist through our Sunday School classes and Worship services.

Leadership Training Conference (A Central Virginia Baptist Ministry):  On September 22, Tomahawk will join with other Baptist churches in Central Virginia for the purpose of training people to be ministry leaders.  The conference is for all who are currently and all who might potentially become leaders in ministries of our church.  This year the conference was held at Branch's Baptist Church on September 22, at 6:45 p.m.
