Interim Pastor

Dr. Daniel G. Bagby

Dr. Bagby was unanimously elected to serve as the Interim Pastor at Tomahawk Baptist on Sunday, January 3, 2010.  He is also currently Theodore F. Adams Professor of Pastoral Care and Counseling, and Director of the Doctor of Ministry program at Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond.

He holds a Master of Psychology, a Master of Divinity at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, and a PhD. in Marriage & Family Counseling (Wayne E. Oates fellow).

Dr. Bagby pastored for twenty six years in Virginia, Indiana, and Texas.  He also served as chaplain for a juvenile detention center, a psychiatric hospital, and to a women's prison for many years while in Kentucky.  He was a pastoral counselor in two pastoral counseling centers in Indiana and Texas in addition to teaching Pastoral Care at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond.

He holds membership in the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapist (AAMFT), American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC), and the American Orthopsychiatric Association.

Dr. Bagby is married to a 9th grade English teacher, Janet, and has a 38 year old son and a 31 year old daughter.
